“And are we yet Alive, to see each other’s face…..”
Having survived the horrific and life-changing COVID 19 pandemic, we realize that life as we know it, will never be the same. I am both honored and count it a privilege, to serve as your president for the 2021- 2023 term. Who knew that when I accepted the nomination to serve as your President-Elect in 2019 that as president, we would be in the midst of the worst pandemic since 1918, complete with quarantines, variants, virtual teaching, and over 600,000 deaths in our country alone? Be that as it may…. “We are yet alive.” I look forward to serving the Greater Alliance of Black School Educators for the next two years.
I give special thanks to our immediate past president, Dr. Debra Messenger Smith, for an outstanding job of maintaining the integrity of our organization and navigating our membership through this most difficult time for everyone.
I invite you to set sail with me over the next two years as we board the following three ships to move us forward: MemberShip, PartnerShip, and SponsorShip. We encourage you to please join us.
Our MemberShip will work through our hospitality, budget/finance, constitution/bylaws and nomination committees to increase and retain our membership.
Our PartnerShip will work through our public relations, website/social media, legislative & educational issues, and program/activities committees to invite other organizations, who share the importance of educating our students as well as our educators to partner with us.
Our SponsorShip will work through our ACT prep, Scholarship/Awards, Golf Tournament, Gala and our Educational Forum to provide direct support to our students and educators.
Please refer to the membership tab above on this website to join us as we cruise toward a greater and better tomorrow for the Greater Nashville Alliance of Black School Educators (GNABSE).
Roberta Hill, Ed.D.
President of GNABSE
