One Team, One Goal
Greetings!
Let me first and foremost thank all the past and present members of the Greater Nashville Alliance of Black School Educators for your motivation, dedication, and commitment to serving students and families in our area school communities in Middle Tennessee over the years. The high mark of pursuing excellence for our children has kept the mission and vision of this great organization alive and well. I am most graciously humbled to be elected to serve as the president and work shoulder to shoulder with every member of the Greater Nashville Alliance of Black School Educators in its quest to advocate for policies and laws that impact and improve the success of all children, particularly children of color.
Our immediate past president, Ms. Olivia Flakes has re-imagined our historic organization with a vision of Refresh, Reinvigorate, and Renew while placing before us the power of unity and intentionality dedicated to achieving positive student outcomes. As we continue to navigate the challenging educational waters collectively with hope and strength, we will leverage every member talents through intentional leadership and action only to stand on the business for “One Team, One Goal”.
Currently, we are in a season where our education system has been polarized through media and government sanctions, but we as an organization must continue to stay steadfast advocating for our children to be deserving of a high-quality learning experience. In addition, we must continue equipping educators with tools, knowledge, and skills through mentorship in order to support the next generation to lead us far and beyond.
This is our time to build upon our experiences to educate, engage, and empower our students, educators, and families. I am deeply honored to serve. One Team, One Goal will carry us forward.
Mr. Thomas O. Chappelle III
President, Greater Nashville Alliance of Black School Educators
